Key Stage 3

Students follow the national curriculum in mathematics. The scheme of work includes various different methods of learning for the students to develop their understanding of the subject and to be able to use these skills beyond the classroom.
 
Years 7, 8 and 9 all study 4 topics
 
• Number the four rules, fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio.
• Algebra – patterns, finding rules and solving equations.
• Geometry and Measures – symmetry, area, perimeter, volume , angles and polygons
• Statistics – statistical diagrams, averages and probability.
 
 
Assignments/Homework are set on a weekly basis. Support for students and parents can be found on www.mymaths.co.uk.

Extra-curricular clubs are offered during breaks and after school, including homework and revision support.
